On 20 April, 1885, the
American Bank Note Company entered the Ecuador order for 100,000 domestic 2c
post cards, and 200,000 UPU 3c post cards.
A die for each value was
engraved and then transferred 18 on and then 12 on to form a stone of 30
images. The cards were lithographed on card stock (22 x 28 inches, 140
lbs) from Hastings & Todd.
The printing was completed by 16 June 1885
when Ecuador was billed.
The Ecuadorian agent involved was named
"Ruiz".
